Bob Jones is a well-known duck decoy carver, formerly from New Jersey, who had turned a childhood hobby into a full-time business. In 1996, Bob changed directions, moved to New York State and began to carve fish decoys. His unique style of painting allows the natural grain of the wood to show through the painted finish. Many have tried to copy his style, but have not succeeded.

As an outdoor enthusiast, Bob enjoys watching ducks and geese on his swamp and private pond. Accompanied by his Lab, Jessie, he often photographs the area’s wildlife. Being a conservationist, Bob has deep respect for nature and is always improving his farmland for its benefit.

Bob’s carvings also reflect the same attitude. The fish are made of high-grade white pine which he carefully dries and forms into decoy blanks. Bob has received many compliments for providing such fine-quality work for his customers’ pleasure – whether purchasing a blank to personally finish or a beautifully-painted piece to decorate their home or give as a gift.
